Ingredients

5 cans (14 oz. each) pork and beans
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 teaspoons dry mustard
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients in the crock.
3. Cover and cook on preferred setting:
Low - 6 to 8 hours
High - 3 to 4 hours

Cook the bacon in the microwave for less mess and easier cleanup. Place 3 paper towels on a microwave-safe plate or dish. Place 3 strips of bacon on the paper towels. Cover with a paper towel and place the remaining 3 strips of bacon. Cover with a paper towel. Microwave on high (100%) power for 4&1/2 to 6 minutes. Turn dish halfway through cooking time. Let bacon rest 5 minutes. Remove from paper towels. Crumble when cool. Substitutions:
You can use either pure maple syrup or maple-flavored syrup in this recipe.
