How do I clean the soleplate?

To protect the soleplate from scratches, never iron over buttons, zippers, metal rivets, or snaps.

To clean starch build-up and other residue from the SilverStone® soleplate (feature found on selected models), unplug the iron and allow it to cool. With iron in upright position, clean the nonstick surface with a warm, sudsy cloth or sponge; wipe dry. DO NOT USE any abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads as they may damage the nonstick surface.
