Turkey Poutine with Holiday Leftovers

From The Hamilton Beach Test Kitchen

Added by Pat

Ingredients

  • French Fries (homemade fries, or store-bought)
  • Turkey
  • Stuffing
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Gravy
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Customize with your family's leftovers

Directions

  1. Bake french fries— you can make french fries from scratch using our favorite fry recipe, or you can use the frozen, store-bought variety cooked according to the package directions.
  2. Tear or cut 8 ounces of turkey into bite-sized pieces. Reheat the turkey, along with four to six servings of stuffing, mashed potatoes (yes, you're going to get a double dose of potato with this recipe), gravy and any additional ingredients to customize your poutine with leftovers you have on hand.
  3. Assemble the poutine— make a pile of french fries, top it with mashed potatoes, add a scoop of stuffing, sprinkle on some turkey, smother with gravy, and top with your leftover cranberry sauce. Add some chopped parsley for garnish.

Serves: 4-6

TEST KITCHEN TIPS:

  • Make sure you have enough french fries for a second round of this delicious leftovers poutine.
  • Poutine traditionally includes cheese curds— add some or your favorite cheese for a more authentic dish.
  • Prep this poutine as an easy snack to clear out the fridge or as an appetizer while you're watching the game.
  • Assemble the poutine as individual servings on dinner plates or as a larger dish on a serving plate.
